Wholesaler-Distributor Events & Training Opportunities

The National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors 2013 Executive Summit was held this month in Washington, D.C. The summit looked ahead to 2013-2014 at best practices in electrical wholesaling and distribution. There was a professional lineup of expert speakers who covered what is, and what isn’t working in distribution in recent years.

This year’s calendar for the industry includes many events that are not only for executives. Much of what is planned is for end-users. That’s where things get done. Below are some key events and educational opportunities in motor and motion control as well as the ongoing “Green” movement.

Chicago Green 2013

Chicago Green 2013 was put on by the Chicago-land Electric Association in Rosemont, IL, January 24. The event included significant changes as the Green movement is maturing. This topic is expected to get the spotlight in the foreseeable future.

The event is dubbed “An Educational Conference Focusing on Green Opportunities in the Electrical Industry”. Despite a strained economy and trade/exhibition attendance dwindling, the Green movement continues to gain steam. A larger contingency of electrical contractors was accommodated and arrived as expected. Seminars were tailored for end-users, facility managers, municipalities, property managers as well as electrical construction. Motor & Motion Association

The Motor & Motion Association College courses are available for presentation at your company. In-house education delivery complements the motors and drives learning process as SMMA educators join engineering managers, or other disciplines within the organization, to tailor classroom materials founded on the know-how level of the students. The College opened in 1993and was founded to deliver motor theory and design education for members within the electric motion industry. Teachers are top of their field with high-level credentials and an established reputation with the SMMA Motor & Motion College.

The Motor & Motion Association is the industry trade group for motion control and electric motor professions. Over 120 companies belong to the association including manufacturers, distributors, end-users, consultants and universities. Consumer and commercial sectors are served including industrial automations, medical equipment, office automation, computers, aerospace and appliance.

The Motion Control Association is holding its 5th annual conference February 20-22, 2013 in Orlando, FL. The MCA Business Conference brings together top executives from motion control industries. The event features insightful talks and outstanding networking opportunities.
